Dr. Clara Thompson is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with a robust background in Health and Forensic Psychology. With extensive experience in the mental health field, Dr. Thompson has dedicated much of her professional career to working with military veterans and their families, providing specialized care to address the unique challenges they face. In addition, she has experience supporting children and adults managing complex mental and physical health conditions, both within and outside the judicial system.
After serving in the United States Marine Corps and raising a family, Dr. Thompson earned her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Health Psychology from Carlos Albizu University in Miami, FL, in 2020. She also holds two master’s degrees: a Master of Science in Psychology (2018) and a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology (2011). She completed undergraduate studies in Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland, University College (2009).
Dr. Thompson brings over a decade of academic and hands-on experience, cultivating specialized expertise through her clinical training and work experience at the Miami and Tennessee Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, as well as at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Thompson has developed specialized expertise in handling complex cases related to mental health disorders, developmental issues, clinical and diagnostic evaluations, behavioral challenges, and criminal behavior. As an active member of PsyPACT, the American Psychological Association, and affiliated divisions focused on health, pharmacotherapy, forensic, and military psychology, she remains at the forefront of current psychological research and applications.
